Barbara Grundy & Lynsey Plockyn
Lynsey Plockyn graduated with a First Class degree in Illustration from Portsmouth University and a Masters Degree (Distinction) from Southampton University. Together with Barbara Grundy, also an Illustration graduate from Portsmouth University, she established 'Illustrated Allsorts', a design and illustration practice. They held a joint exhibition 'A Sense of Place' at Le Café Parisien in Portsmouth. As an illustrator and artist book maker, Lynsey took part in an artists' collaborative project, 'Bookworks 2004', in England, America and Europe. Both artists work their drawings into collage, layering up translucent tissue paper, like paint, to give bursts of colour or a subtle, atmospheric quality depending on the mood they wish to evoke. Particular colours and textures of paper and found objects play a part in their work. The work of artists like Joseph Cornell, Peter Greenaway and Robert Rauschenberg are an influence. Barbara and Lynsey enjoy passing on their love of illustration through running workshops for children. Lynsey also teaches part-time at Portsmouth University.
