Training in Jewellery at Middlesex University, Lindsey graduated
with a First Class degree in 2002. She focuses on the use of unusual
materials and techniques; producing colourful and playful jewellery
from printed aluminium and plastics.
Her work is inspired by a combination of 50's style tin toys, games
and interior decoration, with bold colour and surface pattern playing
a key role. There is a toy like quality to much of the jewellery
which is enhanced by the use of kinetic components such as tiny
spinning propellers or swinging pendulums. The wearer is encouraged
to play and interact with the jewellery.
Lindsey sells and exhibits her work throughout the UK and Europe,
showing regularly at Dazzle jewellery exhibitions and Chelsea Crafts
Fair. Her work has been seen in several lifestyle magazines including
Vogue and Elle Decoration.
Lindsey works from The Colour Factory, the lively group studios
and gallery in the heart of Winchester. Running workshops for both
adults and children, she shares her enthusiasm for innovative jewellery
making.
